The President of the International Real Estate Federation (FIABCI), Walid Moussa accompanied by FIABCI President for Africa chapter, Joseph Akhigbe and Vice President Ismail Gbenga are scheduled to visit Uganda from today January 29th to 31st 2020.
According to Ms Shirley Kongai, President of the Association of Real Estate (AREA – Uganda), the trio will be exploring among others, International collaboration, real estate investment opportunities and networking.
“During the three-day visit, the team will hold meetings with AREA – Uganda, the Ministry of Lands Housing and Urban Development officials and they are also expected to meet President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni,” said Kongai in a statement.
Kongai further explained, “Moussa and his team will visit Uganda after Nigeria, South Africa and Rwanda. He is also expected to visit Kenya and Tanzania.”
The International Real Estate Federation is a worldwide organization that brings together over 800 professional real estate associations in 70 countries with its headquarters in Paris for purposes of carrying on International Real Estate business.
Founded in 2008, AREA – Uganda is a professional association of Real Estate agents, property managers, developers and real estate practitioners in Uganda. With over 300 individuals and 200 corporate members, AREA – Uganda’s mandate is to professionalize the real estate sector in Uganda as well as to create awareness of it’s benefits as an engine for economic growth.
Moussa visit comes at a time when Uganda has a housing deficit of about 2 million housing units.
Moussa who is also the founding President of FIABCI Arabic countries and President of Real Estate Syndicate of Lebanon (REAL) serves as Economic Ambassador of Business Confederation of Andorra (CEA) representing their interests in the region.
