AREA-Uganda has engaged in several trainings which include, Mortgage training, Valuation training, brokerage management training and Instructors training at the East African Regional Real Estate Training Center (EARRETC) in Nairobi.
The Association has developed more training programs and to date has six training programs on offer.
An M.O.U between the Association and Uganda Management Institute (UMI) has been operational and a new one has been signed between the Association and Makerere University Business School (MUBS) and trainings have already taken place.
AREA-Uganda has cooperated with International Real Property Foundation and Real Estate Association of Rwanda to formulate the Real estate Institute of East Africa.
Real Estate Institute of East Africa (REIA) is the training arm of the association that is tasked to impart members with practical knowledge in real estate practice.
Currently the institution is hosted at the secretariat. It has two volunteer staff supported by external trainers and therefore understaffed.
Office expenses are met by AREA-U and the Executive Director of REIA who also caters for all costs involved in curriculum development.
So far the first intake of students which is purely free of charge apart from registration and examination fees started in February 2018 to May 2018. There were 87 participants registered although some have since dropped off leaving about 70 participants.
