Membership benefits


AREA-Uganda has four membership categories and the membership subscription runs from July 1st to June 30th of the following year. The membership categories are listed below: 

Corporate membership

This Membership applies to companies that directly deal in Real estate agency,brokerage and property management. They pay an annual subscription fee of 300,000 Uganda Shillings and a corporate membership certificate is awarded. They have voting rights.


Associate Membership

This membership applies to companies that have key interest in real estate agency/brokerage business. They are not neccessarily real estate companies but have interest in real estate ie. mortagage banks, architects, surveyors and many other institutions. Annual Subscripton fee is 150,000 Uganda Shillings per year and also get an associate membership certificate. Non voting rights.

Individuals Membership

These are real estate professionals or individuals working with real estate agency/brokerage companies. The annual subscription is 100,000 Uganda Shillings. An individual membership certificate is awarding.

Student Membership

Students studying real estate related courses pay 20,000 Uganda Shillings per year and are also awarded a students membership certificate.

Benefits of being a member of AREA

  • Trainings. Training opportunities are readily available in a bid to promote professionalism. Some of the trainings conducted include brokerage,condominium law and property training, property management, real estate marketing, valuation among others. Educative talks are also held during our monthly networking meetings.
  • Publicity. Members enjoy the publicity these meetings/ Talks attract i.e. newspaper adverts, TV interviews etc. It is free advertising for our members and publicity for AREA limited to only AREA members. Our meetings too attract media houses ranging from print to Video (TV).
  • Networking. Network with institutions and companies present during AREA events/ meetings.
  • Internship. Student members get a chance to do Internship with our member companies. It is a source of employment for some members and an out sourcing for others.
  • Marketing. You will get to market your listings to so many agents and managers in one gathering which means you will expand your circle of influence. This also speeds up the sale of your products.
  • Resource Centre. Members get an opportunity to acquire more knowledge because they get access to the AREA Uganda resource centre. This encourages research and helps in knowlege acquistion.
  • AREA Uganda Investment Club. Members get an opportunity to be part of the investment club and therefore instills a habit of saving and investing in real estate.

  •  Becoming part of a larger body professionally working together to influence policy making processes that stimulates and spurs growth of  private business in Uganda
